Adelia Albert and Albrecht- Draft 1

“Have you really never read him? Come on!” Albrecht is famous, after all.

Albert, in surprise, slowly rose from his chair and headed towards the bookshelf. He had a simple and somewhat adorable oak bookshelf. He stood in front of it for a while. He ran his hand slowly over the books and took out a hardcover book. “It’s truly unbelievable that you’ve never read Raymond Albrecht,” Albert said, unable to hide his astonishment once again. “This book is a masterpiece. Raymond Albrecht was one of the most important philosophers of this century. We lost him at a young age, unfortunately, that great mind. I was as sure as my own name that he would be a man who would leave his mark on the world. The ideology of Albrechtism is a new, original, and different movement. It has slowly begun to make waves in the world. If the Third World War had not occurred, it was certain that this idea would have many followers. But that’s not a problem at all. In a shattered world, it will be easier and more enjoyable, in my opinion, to impose some things on people. Did the word ‘impose’ become too disturbing, do you think? Maybe ‘instill’ would be better? I’m trying to expand my vocabulary as much as possible, dear Adelia! Different dialects and accents in German also interest me. I would like to speak Berlin dialect (Berlinsch) like you. Well, these are topics that can be discussed later. We can go over them another time. I love giving speeches to people, but I can’t help myself. I also took rhetoric lessons back in the day. There was a nice course for that in Hamburg. Unfortunately, leveling up isn’t such an easy thing.”

—”So, you’re claiming to be a Homo Pretiosus, aren’t you?”

—”Look at you! You knew all along. It’s unimaginable that someone like you wouldn’t be aware of such a concept.”

—”But you won’t be, Albert. You’re attributing more value to yourself than you should. You’re incapable of even seeing the truths right in front of you. Isn’t it time to distinguish some things? When I compare you to Frederick, he deserves more respect. He paints a more idealistic and dignified portrait. If dear Albrecht’s caste system is correct, Frederick is higher up than you. Or is this system flawed?”

Adelia said her last words mockingly. As Albert crumpled a piece of paper on the table in frustration, he looked sharply at Adelia. His lips tensed. His pupils dilated.

—”What do you mean?”

—”I don’t know. You probably have the capacity to understand.”

—”Belinda! Come and take this girl away from me. I think we’ve chatted enough. Also, let Mathilda know to come to my room. Immediately!”

Belinda walked in and headed towards Adelia.
